Funding supporting homeless veterans
We are delighted to announce that we are the grateful recipient of a £24,737 grant from the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity in partnership with Greenwich Hospital. The funds will support our Homes for Veterans service, which provides care and accommodation to homeless and vulnerable veterans.
The funds allocated will be used to support Royal Navy and Royal Marine personnel to make a successful transition back into civilian life. We do this by providing supported accommodation in the area of Gosport. In addition to the supported housing we offer specialist care and guidance to vulnerable Army and Royal Air Force veterans in the Portsmouth area who are over 55 (or any age with 22 years service), including those who are currently living in their own homes.
Anne Williams, Homes for Veterans Operations Manager, says;
“We are extremely thankful to the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and Greenwich Hospital for their continued support. We believe every veteran should be given the chance to live a fulfilled life. Our teams are passionate about providing care and support to Armed Forces veterans and many of our staff are ex-service personnel themselves.”
Alabaré’s Homes for Veterans service provides 108 for ex-service personnel across 21 dedicated homes. The homes are located across the South and South West in Plymouth, Gosport, Fareham, Weymouth, Salisbury, Bristol, Gloucester and in North and South Wales.
