Parent and baby
Our parent and baby homes are safe and warm, with our caring and understanding team on hand to offer support and guidance as you find your feet as a new parent.
Our homes are for vulnerable young parents who are either pregnant or with their babies. We provide a supportive, stimulating, safe environment, helping you to make life choices that will help you towards the goals you have for yourself and your baby.
You will be living with other young people and their babies, which can be supportive and reassuring as you develop your parenting skills. We have a range of activities and opportunities on offer as well which can help you move onto successful independent living.

Support when you need it
We can accept young parents who are referred to us by Wiltshire or Hampshire Council Homeless Team, via social care, or you can get in touch with us directly. We may still be able to help you even if you are not currently living in Wiltshire or Hampshire. You must be aged 16 – 21 years old with accommodation needs and either expecting, or have a baby.
Our team provide support Monday-Friday and we have a telephone on-call system at the weekend. Your Alabaré key worker will agree a support plan with you based on your needs and goals. Our homes have a communal lounge and a kitchen/dining room which helps our residents develop strong bonds and encourages mutual support.

Most young parents stay with us around nine months. During that time we will help you access any other support or services that you need. We will also offer you training in skills such as includes cooking, budgeting and wellbeing so that you can successfully manage a tenancy as well as look after your growing child when you move on.
The aim is to enable you to:
- have the skills and confidence to move on to independent accommodation
- gain parenting skills
- build constructive and positive relationships within the community
- encourage an awareness of personal responsibility around safety and security
- enjoy, identify and pursue their aspirations through training, education, employment and hobbies, thus increasing their confidence and self-worth
- increase awareness around physical and mental wellbeing, and access to health services
- strengthen the parent and baby bond
