What we do
Today, we support thousands of people each year through our homes and services across England and Wales. Our founding principles of care, compassion, generosity and respect have remained the guiding force of our work. Each person we meet has different needs and different ambitions, and we work alongside them to offer the support that is right for them, to help them out of a crisis, or to overcome barriers or challenges, and to move forward to the life that they choose.
Homes and drop-in centres for people who are homless
We help people overcome the trauma of being homeless, by providing safe homes and support. We help people regain their health and confidence to successfully maintain their accommodation and find employment.
We work with each person to create a support plan based on their own specific needs, and to provide a stepping-stone approach back to independent living.
Last year, 297 people moved on from our supported accommodation and onto independent living.
Help for homelessHomeless veterans
As an Op FORTITUDE partner, we provide a pathway of support for veterans who have struggled in their civilian lives. Together we can help with housing, with health and wellbeing, finances, training and employment. Our Alabaré Homes for Veterans provide safe accommodation for veterans across the South West and across Wales.
Our Veteran Self-Build Scheme operates in multiple areas and offers veterans the chance to gain valuable construction job-based skills while having an opportunity to build their own home.
75% of our residents who are veterans have seen active duty, so our specialised pathway of support embraces these challenges and experiences
Help for veteransYoung people
We support vulnerable and homeless young people, including those leaving the care system, and young unaccompanied asylum seekers in our homes in Wiltshire and Hampshire. We help them gain the skills and confidence to lead successful adult lives.
Young peopleLearning disabilities
Our Supported Living homes and daytime activities at our Wiltshire Development Centres for adults with learning disabilities help everyone have choice and independence. Our Emmaus Community is available for residents who want to live with other of Christian faith.
Learning DisabilitiesParent & baby
Our Parent & Baby homes offer supported housing to nine young parents and mums to be in Salisbury and Andover. Our homes are for young people who are at risk of homelessness and either expecting or with a young child.
