We can’t do what we do without our supporters and fundraisers

Only with your help can we continue to run our homes and services for homeless adults, young people, veterans and adults with learning disabilities.

How you can help

Woman volunteer for Alabare

Our fantastic volunteers work alongside our staff team, offering additional activities and support by sharing their time, skills and experiences. We offer our volunteers opportunities to take part in our training courses and gain new skills themselves. By joining our volunteering team you not only enhance our clients lives but you will enjoy being part of our friendly teams and a valued member of Alabaré. If you would like to learn more, we would love to hear from you.

Please have a look at the huge variety of events on offer; from fascinating talks to challenge events such as cycle rides, charity treks, runs and climbs in the UK or abroad. You may also choose to take part in our our signature BIG Sleep events which are held at iconic locations several times a year.

You may choose to take part in one of our own events or you may have a fantastic fundraising idea of your own. Perhaps you have a personal goal that you would like to achieve, or maybe you would like to run a marathon for charity, whichever you choose, gather your friends, family or colleagues, have fun and raise money for Alabaré. Your fundraising will literally save lives.

Sponsor a room

By sponsoring a room for £16 per month, you will help us provide a safe home for someone who is homeless and vulnerable. For just 50p a day, your room at Alabaré will not only provide accommodation and support for someone who has been in crisis but also training and life skills so that they never have to face that situation again.

Get involved as a community group

Whether you are a member of a church, school, or community group member such as Scouts or Guides, Mothers’ Union or Men’s Breakfast, we would love to explore how we can work together!

Your donations, prayers and things you do to help us raise awareness of the issues linked to homeless make a huge difference to us and the support we can provide. We would love to come and chat or can speak to your group, provide some resources or ideas to support your activities, and much more. Please give us a call or send us an email to find out more.

Become a corporate sponsor

Give your teams opportunities to bond and develop through a charity partnership. They can take part in volunteering or fundraising activities that they would otherwise not have the time or the confidence to undertake on their own. It can help develop a sense of pride in your organisation and is known to help staff retention.

The support you give us is immeasurable and makes an immediate difference to people’s lives. There is a saying that ‘we could all be two pay cheques away from a very different situation’ and by providing individual support it enables progression and the opportunity for a brighter future.

Man leaving a legacy in his will

Leave a legacy in your will

By leaving a gift in your will to Alabaré you will be helping to make sure there is support here for people who find themselves homeless or vulnerable long into the future. Your legacy will be that helping hand and the opportunity someone needs to rebuild their life and get back on track. You can help others have a fulfilling life too. To learn more about how legacy gifts support our charity, or to access our Free Will scheme, do get in touch.

Bob, a homeless man

Our history

Alabaré was founded out of the simple act of providing a place of shelter and safety to help one homeless man, Bob. Today, it remains our goal to help people who are vulnerable build bright futures, homes and minds for themselves.
