We believe no veteran should be sleeping on the streets
Our Alabaré Homes for Veterans assist ex-Armed Forces personnel who are struggling in their civilian lives and who face homelessness sleeping on sofas or in temporary accommodation, cars or tents. Our teams understand the experiences of serving in our Armed Forces and offer specialised support to help our veterans move on to successful independent lives once more.
We are a national charity supporting homeless veterans across England and Wales. Please make a referral using the enquiry form above or telephone during office hours. If you need support outside of the locations we operate in, please use the Op FORTITUDE referral form.
If you have served and worry you could become homeless in the near future, please do get in touch.

Services for and help for homeless veterans across England & Wales
Our teams offer a personalised pathway of support that considers your health, finances and employment goals as well as helping you secure a home to move onto when you are ready. Alongside our homes we have a range of opportunities for veterans living with us, and also those living in the community, across the South, South West and across north and south Wales.

Accommodation and support
In every home, you would have your own room with communal kitchens and living rooms. It will not take long before it looks homely and it feels like yours.
We will provide you with a key worker from our team, and together you will agree on an action plan based on your needs and goals. We can also help you access support and services from other agencies if needed. We will help you look at your options for future housing and support you in finding a suitable new home when you are ready to move on from us.
A range of training and activities is available to you, including art, music, cooking and health. Our chaplaincy service is also available if you wish to explore your spiritual wellbeing. We also provide you with our Tenancy Training programme which helps you build the skills, confidence and knowledge you will need to successfully manage your future.
Our Homes for Veterans are grateful for funding from the Office for Veterans’ Affairs (OVA), the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust under the Reducing Veterans’ Homelessness programme. We are proud to work with Op FORTITUDE to end veteran homelessness.
Veterans’ Self-Build
Our Veterans’ Self-Build provides training and support for former military personnel. We have partnered with housing developers, local authorities and housing associations to offer this programme to homeless veterans, or at risk of becoming so.
Each veteran self-builder will gain recognised qualifications in the construction industry while receiving support to build greater confidence and improved mental health. Each programme lasts between 1 and 3 years, and each veteran who completes the full course will also have the opportunity to live in one of the homes they helped build.
Opportunities currently exist in Plymouth and Wiltshire, with more planned.

Our teams across the South, North, and South Wales build self-esteem, resilience, skills, and wellbeing for veterans through group activities in the great outdoors.
Veterans across our service and those in the community who need support with their wellbeing can take part in a range of outdoor pursuits, such as gardening, archaeology, workshop crafts, walks and beach cleaning.
All our activities are run in a friendly, supportive atmosphere that promotes positive mental wellbeing. Our team includes mentors who can also provide peer support to our participants.
