In June, we proudly joined Op FORTITUDE as partners, allowing us to expand our reach and offer assistance to even more veterans in need. Since this partnership began, we have seen a significant increase in referrals.
This week (7th September), our first three veterans at Drummond Park in Ludgershall celebrated completing their on-site training at a special presentation service.
We welcomed the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Johnny Mercer MP, to Drummond Park in Ludgershall, Wiltshire, to meet with those involved in the veterans’ community project and discuss the huge benefits of collaboration between charity and industry in helping veterans.
We welcomed the Leader of Wiltshire Council, Cllr. Richard Clewer, to see the progress of the Drummond Park site at Ludgershall and meet the Alabaré Self-Builders involved in its construction.
A team of eleven veterans from Alabaré, including eight who have struggled and faced homelessness since leaving the Armed Forces, are returning to Gibraltar, a UK territory where many personnel spent time serving.
When she saw the Alabaré Plymouth Veterans Self-Build scheme advertised at her local veterans’ breakfast club, she immediately recognised the fantastic opportunity it could be for her and got in touch.
Lee was living with his girlfriend, but sadly, their relationship ended, and Lee found himself homeless. He was drinking quite heavily to cope with his feelings at the time.
