Celebrating 30 Years
While this milestone birthday is a time of celebration, it is also a time for reflection. The sad reality is that homelessness is as much a problem now as it ever was.

This week marks ten years since one of the most significant milestones in our Alabaré journey – the completion of Alabaré Place Salisbury.
At Salisbury Cathedral we hosted an event to celebrate our 30 years of changing the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people in our communities.
Our story began in the late 1980s when a simple telephone call led to Rev John Proctor and his wife Alicia befriending and offering their home to a series of people in crisis.
We are incredibly proud and excited to let you know that our amazing Chief Executive, Andrew Lord, is to be awarded an MBE!
We would like to congratulate our Chief Executive Andrew Lord, who has marked his 20th year anniversary since his appointment to the role!
Alabaré have marked a decade of providing support to homeless and vulnerable ex-service personnel by hosting a 10-year anniversary celebration event at our Plymouth Home for Veterans.
John founded Alabaré Christian Care & Support in 1991 alongside his wife Alicia after they befriended and offered a home to a series of people in crisis. The charity’s growth since opening the first home in 1992 now sees it support over 1,700 people each year.
