Volunteer Week 2025: Honouring the Hands and Hearts Behind Alabaré
At Alabaré, our volunteers are more than just helpers, they are colleagues, listeners, builders, and beacons of hope. As we celebrate Volunteer Week 2025, we want to pay tribute to the incredible individuals who give their time and talents to support those who need it most.
Our volunteer ambassadors, chaplains, gardeners, peer support workers, administration assistants, fundraisers, and shop workers each bring something unique. They share a common purpose: to serve others with compassion and dignity. Their impact is felt in every smile, every shared story, and every small act of kindness.
Why?
Our volunteers have different motivations for volunteering. For some, it helps them to grow; for others, it helps them find a sense of purpose. Whatever your reason for volunteering, you’ll be joining a community of passionate people who are committed to our vision of building a society where everyone has the opportunity to live a fulfilling life.
Who?
Our volunteers come from all backgrounds, especially those with lived experience of homelessness, being a veteran, supporting young people, individuals with poor mental health and those with learning disabilities.
You must be an adult to volunteer with us and be based in the South West of England or Wales.
How Much Time do I Need to Give?
We know that there is nothing more valuable than giving someone your time. You may want to volunteer every week, support at a one-off event, or somewhere in between. Our volunteer roles can be tailored around you.
