We’re inviting you to take a stand and help break the cycle of homelessness!

Each year, hundreds of people sleep out for one night in extraordinary locations, raising funds to provide homes, restore hearts and empower minds.

Your support and generosity will help someone find safety, hope, and healing and enable us to deliver measurable, life-changing outcomes and reach more vulnerable people in need.

Our flagship event will return to the Salisbury Cathedral in March, with more details to follow.

Will you take on the challenge of sleeping rough on the cold, hard floor of the Cathedral cloisters?

Monies raised will help rebuild the lives of rough sleepers and others who are homeless in Salisbury and Wiltshire.

This event is suitable for anyone aged 14+, although many of our regular BIG Sleepers are in their 70s.

I’m really pleased to be raising money for Alabaré, a fantastic charity. It’s really nice to be supporting a charity working hard in my own area.

Ian, Alabaré event participant

Together, we can help others look forward to a bright future again.

As a charity, we have been helping people in who are vulnerable or homeless for over 30 years and in that time we’ve supported over 34,000 people.  Every day, people who have been in crisis leave us to move on to new lives and new hope.

We can only provide this life-changing support thanks to the generosity of caring people like you.

Please support our charity so we can be there in someone’s hour of need, to give them a safe home, professional support and practical help.

Help others like Joe

We often don’t have time to stop to think about the impact that our gifts can make, but for someone who’s hit the lowest point in their life, knowing someone is there for them can be the reason to keep going.

Joe was in a bad way when he arrived at our Wiltshire service, having lost his home and subsequently, his job after a relationship breakdown.  He was very hungry and his anxiety was causing him to be quite unwell. Joe (not his real name) had first come to us 14 years beforehand as a young care leaver before he joined a shared house. Sadly, though the landlord sold the property which meant Joe was evicted and he ended up living on the street for some time.

Thankfully, we could once again give him the vital support he needed. Joe says he now feels hopeful for the future.

Our history

Alabaré was founded out of the simple act of providing a place of shelter and safety to help one homeless man, Bob. Today, it remains our goal to help people who are vulnerable build bright futures, homes and minds for themselves.
