ALABARÉ provides supported learning disability housing for adults seeking to live independently.

Whether living in their own home or sharing with others, our goal is to make sure the people we support feel safe, secure, and, most importantly, at home.

Development Centres

We provide a flexible, stimulating programme of training to equip adults with learning disabilities with skills to help them access employment or other educational opportunities should they wish to.

Placements are booked directly by calling us at the centre or by being referred through Community teams.

ALABARÉ Emmaus Community

Founded in 1996, the Emmaus Community began in response to parents seeking a safe, faith-based home for their adult children.

Residents share daily life, including preparing and eating meals together, with prayer and spiritual reflection that explores Bible themes such as Holy Week and Easter.

Our homes are close to local amenities, and there’s always something to enjoy — from football and cycling to gala balls and talent shows that celebrate everyone’s unique gifts.

We have accommodation for single or multiple occupancy – no matter the preference – we have a small, friendly home where everyone has their own space and a say in how they live. Most importantly, our homes are safe, supported, and truly welcoming.

FUNDING

You can pay for the service using your personal budget or other direct payment from private funds or with funding from the local authority (if you are eligible). We also welcome enquiries for this service from out of county.
