Veterans Self-Build Scheme
Alabaré’s Veterans Self-Build Scheme helps homeless ex-service personnel gain construction skills, rebuild confidence, and secure housing.
Veterans work on building their own homes, earning qualifications and improving wellbeing.
Partnering with housing developers, local authorities and housing associations, this life-changing programme supports long-term independence, reduces homelessness, and creates pathways to employment.

Veterans Self-Build Scheme
A NATIONAL HOMELESS VETERANS CHARITY ACROSS SOUTH WEST ENGLAND & WALES
Since opening our first veteran home in Plymouth in 2009, ALABARÉ has helped thousands of ex-military personnel rebuild their lives. It is estimated that there are over 3,500 homeless veterans in the UK.
Last year, we supported 158 veterans through our supported housing services and received 350 referrals, a 122% increase.
Veterans receive their own room, access to communal spaces, and a dedicated key worker to support their journey toward independence.
As the largest provider of veterans’ supported housing in Wales, and a key delivery partner in the UK Government’s initiative to end veteran homelessness, ALABARÉ continues to expand its reach and ensures veterans in crisis can access housing, wellbeing programmes, and long-term support.
