Alabaré to temporarily close Old Sarum Garden Centre to the public
The site will continue to operate as a Development Centre for clients with learning disabilities.
Alabaré’s Old Sarum Garden Centre is to be temporarily closed to the public, effective from Friday, 1 August 2025.
The centre, on The Portway, will continue to operate as a Development Centre, supporting adults with learning disabilities through meaningful day activities and vocational training.
During the closure period, the centre will undergo a behind-the-scenes transformation with some improvements made on site for accessibility, training spaces and outdoor facilities.
Gina Hackett, Alabaré’s Head of Service for Learning Disabilities, said:
“We’re taking the opportunity over the next few months to refresh and revamp our Old Sarum Garden Centre, and feel it’s best to do that internally, and with the needs of our client base at heart.
“The Development Centre is a hugely important part of our work, supporting people with learning disabilities to live a fulfilling life, and we’re keen to ensure that the site is perfectly placed to deliver that. The aim is to reopen to customers at a later date, with a fresh new look and renewed focus.”
