McDonalds donate BIG with BIG Sleep donation
This week we visited McDonald’s on Southampton Road, Salisbury, to present the team with a gift of appreciation.
For several years, McDonald’s has donated breakfast for all 200 of Alabaré’s BIG Sleepers at Salisbury Cathedral. This year the sold-out BIG Sleep event raised over £30,605.

Tony Bennett – Bennett Restaurants Ltd and McDonald’s Franchisee – was delighted to accept the framed print along with his team. He commented:
“It’s fantastic to be able to help Alabaré who do so much to help vulnerable people in our community. I’m also very proud of my team at McDonald’s for getting behind this charity and helping at Alabaré’s annual BIG Sleep event at Salisbury Cathedral to raise awareness of homelessness. We wish Alabaré even more success in the future!”
Kathryn Furnell, Corporate Fundraiser says:
“At our BIG Sleep we explain what the fundraisers can expect from the overnight experience – we round off the briefing saying that in the morning the BIG Sleepers will be given a McDonald’s breakfast – it always gets the biggest cheer!”
Whether it is sponsorship or ‘gifts in kind’, Alabaré relies on these contributions from businesses to enable them to put on their fundraising events in the most effective ways.
Local accountants Fawcetts were also generous in supporting the 2024 Salisbury Cathedral BIG Sleep.
The next Alabaré BIG Sleep at Salisbury Cathedral, to raise funds again for the homeless, is planned for March 2025. To register your interest please email events@alabare.co.uk
