ALABARÉ is delighted to receive support from the local communities where we operate. Whether you are a member of a church, school, or community group such as Scouts or Guides, Mothers’ Union, or Men’s Breakfast Club, we would love to explore how we can work together through community giving!
Raising awareness of homelessness, poor mental health, and vulnerability is critical. We need people, young and old, from all backgrounds to understand some of the causes of homelessness and help us break down some of the misconceptions that others harbour. Community giving also plays a vital role here, as donations raised and gifts in kind from schools, churches, and local groups help us keep our services open.

FAITH GROUPS
Church support is a key element of who we are as a charity – we started from a worshipping community and continue to receive generous donations from churches and congregations.
How can YOU help us to break the cycle of homelessness
- Choose ALABARÉ as your Charity of the Year or Charity of the Month, providing information about us and making a collection
- Hold a coffee morning, Lent lunch, bake sale or Advent supper
- Donate the collection from your Carol service or Remembrance Day service to ALABARÉ
- Focus on ALABARÉ’s work on Homelessness Sunday, October 5th 2025
We will support you through regular newsletters, display materials, and collecting tins, and will do our best to attend any events or speak during special services. Your community giving helps us to continue our vital work with homeless and vulnerable people.

We value highly the partnership we have with schools, through their attendance at our events, their donations and their invitations to speak to the pupils about the challenges of homelessness
How can you help us break the cycle of homelessness?
- Hold an event for us – a Bake Sale, a non-uniform day, a sponsored walk or a Sleep Out have all been popular events in the past
- Choose ALABARÉ as your Charity of the Year or of the Term
- Collect for ALABARÉ at your nativity
- Bring a group of students (14+) to one of our BIG Sleep events
- Invite us to a school assembly or workshop to explore the issues around homelessness

ALABARÉ was founded out of the simple act of providing a place of shelter to one homeless man, Bob. Today, we are a reliable, innovative partner with a proven track record in integrated care delivery.
