Supporting homeless unaccompanied asylum seekers
We support young, vulnerable and homeless unaccompanied asylum seekers in our homes in Wiltshire and Hampshire. We help them gain the skills and confidence to lead successful adult lives.

At our Young People Service, we are committed to providing homes and vital support to homeless unaccompanied asylum seekers. Our goal is to offer young individuals with not just shelter, but opportunities for personal growth, new experiences, and creative expression that can significantly impact their recovery and well-being.
Empowering homeless unaccompanied asylum seekers through new experiences
For many of the homeless unaccompanied asylum seekers we work with, these experiences are often the first of their kind. Whether it’s going on a trip to the beach, cooking sausages over a campfire, or baking a cake for the first time, these activities serve as powerful moments that spark personal growth and create lasting memories. These seemingly simple activities can play a pivotal role in breaking down barriers and fostering a sense of hope and belonging in their lives
Providing comprehensive support for young asylum seekers
At our homes in Salisbury and Andover, our dedicated team ensures that homeless unaccompanied asylum seekers have access to crucial resources. We connect them with local mosques, health services, and provide support for attending appointments. Our team also helps young asylum seekers enroll in local colleges, allowing them to pursue their educational aspirations while they learn English and integrate into their new community.
In addition to supporting their practical needs, we also provide opportunities for them to experience the beauty of their new surroundings. For example, several of the young people we support recently enjoyed a residential trip to the New Forest, where they shared experiences they had never had before.
Real stories from our young asylum seekers
During the trip, one of our young guests shared his excitement:
“I like seeing [points at binoculars] the [mimics birds]. Here is very good.”
[Nods] “Yes, yes here very beautiful. I like [points at binoculars] and walking.”
“I feel very, very good!” [gestures to his chest with a big smile.]
[Nods with a big smile] “Yes, very good!”
These moments of joy and connection are just a small part of the ongoing support we offer to homeless unaccompanied asylum seekers, giving them a chance to explore their world and build positive, lasting memories.
