Too many Armed Forces veterans are still sleeping rough or sofa surfing because they have hit a crisis in their civilian lives.

What is involved:  By taking part in the BIG Sleep St Paul’s Cathedral, we are asking you to raise funds by sleeping out for one night, and in doing so, stop veterans from having no choice but to sleep rough every night.

During the event, we will feature guest speakers and hear powerful testimonies from those whose lives have been transformed by ALABARÉ. There will be music from the prestigious British Military Band and the Salisbury Plain Military Wives Choir, a veterans’ service led by The Reverend Timothy Miller, providing an incredible ambience beneath the dome of St Paul’s.

This is no ordinary sleepout; this is history in the making.

Our team will be on hand with warm drinks and a simple refreshments on arrival with breakfast at dawn (kindly provided by GAIL’s Bakery), welcoming a new day as the London streets come alive once more on Armed Forces Day.

We have limited tickets available for the Special Gathering Under the Dome from 19:30 – 21.30 hrs, featuring special performances by the Salisbury Plain Military Wives Choir and the British Imperial Military Band – please book below.

Why it is important to join the BIG Sleep at St Paul’s Cathedral

Last year, ALABARÉ saw a 121% increase in referrals to veterans’ services from veterans in London and across the UK.

ALABARÉ provides safe beds, rebuilds lives, and offers a path to recovery for someone who has lost it all. Last year, we supported over 158 veterans, 55 of whom have since moved into independent living.

Can you take on The BIG Sleep St Paul’s Cathedral?

We encourage community groups, business leaders and passionate individuals to be part of this extraordinary night!

Only 200 spaces are available.

“Honestly one of the best years of my life.”

Veterans like Ian, who served his country but became homeless after struggling with his mental health, have rebuilt their lives thanks to ALABARÉ’s holistic support.

Ian recently moved into his own home, which he helped build, after participating in the ALABARÉ Veterans’ Self-Build. Watch as he describes his journey.

Big sleep gwych castle

Each year, hundreds of people sleep out for one night in extraordinary locations, raising funds to break the cycle of homelessness by providing homes, restoring hearts and empowering minds.

Each fundraiser is asked to pledge £500 for our veteran work.

Collectively, we aim to raise at least £200,000.

“Fortunately for us, we were dry, safe within the walls of the Tower. However, I am conscious that many have no option but to sleep rough and face the consequential dangers and hazards that we did not, suffering as a result. I am really pleased I was able to help ALABARÉ in trying to help those who are homeless.”
