Seeking support: Chloe’s story
We offer free mental health support services for people across Hampshire and Wiltshire. The first step is seeking support and reaching out for a free confidential chat.

Chloe is a young woman who faced significant emotional challenges, including suicidal thoughts and complex mental health needs.
She frequently relied on emergency services during moments of crisis, but struggled to find the consistent and specialised care she needed.
Over time, Chloe grew increasingly frustrated with the lack of appropriate mental health support and resources, highlighting the urgent need for improved access to crisis intervention and mental health services.
After a brief stay at the General Hospital, Chloe moved to Alabaré’s Hope House for a few weeks, where she began to take steps toward understanding her emotions and seeking support. She agreed to collaborate with the team to improve her emotional awareness and communication skills, helping her express her needs more effectively.
Overcoming crisis by seeking support
The team at Hope House focused on building a trusting relationship with Chloe, allowing her to feel more comfortable and supported. Despite some challenging moments, Chloe became more relaxed, and the team was able to anticipate her needs and guide her in seeking support when necessary.
Since leaving Hope House, Chloe has not had to rely on emergency services. Instead, she has taken control of her mental health by seeking support independently, including reaching out to Riverside Sanctuary when needed. Chloe feels more confident in managing her well-being and has developed a renewed sense of hope for the future, including her desire to work in mental health support.
