I’ve seen life from the very bottom, the grim reality, the harsh reality of being a drug addict, living on the street and it isn’t a good place to be. I’m not saying it’s easy, it’s definitely not easy, but there’s always another way. One word that describes it all really ALABARÉ gave me hope.
Our team, working across the UK homeless charity sector, comprises a rich network of staff, volunteers, ambassadors, trustees, and patrons who work hard to ensure that we provide the best possible level of support across all our homes and services.
Founders of ALABARÉ
The Revd John Proctor OBE and Alicia Proctor
ALABARÉ Founders – Support ALABARÉ in advisory and ambassadorial ways, promoting our mission, fostering awareness, supporting fundraising through introductions and advocacy, sharing historical insight and founding values, as well as offering informal advice.
ALABARÉ was founded by The Revd John Proctor OBE and Alicia Proctor, whose deep compassion and steadfast belief in helping those most in need have shaped the charity since its earliest days. Their dedication, lived out over many decades, laid the foundations for an organisation that, as a UK homeless charity, has supported thousands of people in rebuilding their lives.
While John and Alicia hold no governance, executive, or managerial authority within ALABARÉ today – with all strategic direction and legal responsibility held solely by the Board of Trustees – their contribution remains an important part of our story.
Their enduring commitment continues to inspire our work and the communities we serve.
