Make a referral

Young people are at increased risk of becoming homeless.

At Alabaré, we offer a range of accommodation and support for vulnerable young people in Andover, Hampshire, and across Wiltshire.  If you are in Hampshire or Wiltshire and are aged 16-25 years old, are either homeless or facing homelessness, are leaving local authority care, or are a young unaccompanied asylum seeker, then we may be able to help. Our services are either 24-hour support or semi-supported housing.

We also offer support and accommodation to young parents.

How we can help…

Our homes provide a safe, supportive place where you can settle and receive help overcoming previous trauma or mental or physical health needs. Together, we will create a plan to support you towards your goals and the independent living you choose. This can include looking at areas such as motivation, budgeting, practical life skills, training, employment, and education. Our team will also work closely with other professionals, signposting to these services when needed, such as substance misuse and mental health support. We also have strong links with local training providers and colleges and can help you access their courses.

Andover Foyer

Homes, support and training

At Alabaré we have two foyers for young people, one in Andover and one covering Wiltshire.  A foyer is a service which integrates both accommodation and learning opportunities.

Our Andover Foyer is for 16–21-year-olds and is central to all the town’s amenities. We accept referrals to our Andover services from Hampshire County Council or young people can self-refer to our service or apply through Test Valley Borough Council. We are also able to help vulnerable young parents and parents to be, and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children.

Our Wiltshire Foyer open to young people aged 16-25 year old who need housing and support.  All are homes are close to town centres, colleges and other local facilities. We can only accept referrals to our Wiltshire Foyer via Wiltshire Council Homeless Team. However, if you would like more information, please do get in touch.

Our foyer teams will help you settle into our homes and work with you to create a support plan based on your individual needs and goals.  We will work alongside other agencies who are helping you as well.  Our in-house training opportunities, including our tenancy training, are available through our Alabaré Academy.  These can help build your confidence as well as offer practical support to help you find employment and successfully manage your own home in the future.

Charlie’s story

Charlie’s mental health, since he was a young teenager, has been low; in the past, he self-harmed and misused medication. With all the uncertainty and change from living at home, his mental health began to decline, and Charlie lost motivation for college.
