Trekking The Icelandic Lava Fields To Help Our Homeless Veterans

Trekking the Icelandic lava fields to help our homeless Veterans

This week one of our fantastic fundraisers Cath Toogood, travels to the Icelandic Lava Fields to help our Homes for Veterans by raising vital funds. The trip is self funded and Cath has been training hard over the past few months; sticking to a strict training schedual.

The trek itself is a tough and a challenging one, through a remote and wild environment. Cath’s training partner in the UK is Chaos, her 13 year old male Staffy.

Cath says;

“I leave the car at home and walk most places if possible. I go to Pilates every week and I swim twice a week when time allows. The last few weeks has been tough because of the heat, especially for Chaos.  With just over a week to go I have ramped up the training taking on more hills. I am really looking forward to the challenge and the boring part is fast approaching, packing my bag and deciding what to leave out! Iceland here I come!”

 To boost her fundraising Cath has been holding table top sales, cake sales and even a pub quiz.

Please join us in wishing Cath the best of luck and if you can donate to her give.net page https://my.give.net/Cath_iceland
